Recognition for Spain’s Almonte Bridge
Innovation & expertize in temporary stay cable arena
The International Bridge Conference (IBC) Executive Committee has recently awarded the prestigious Gustav Lindenthal Medal to the owners of Spain’s Almonte Viaduct. Award of the Lindenthal Medal recognizes an outstanding achievement in bridge engineering which demonstrates technical and material innovation, aesthetic merit, harmony with the environment or successful community participation.
Congratulations to BBR PTE, part of the FCC Group, who provided expertize for the installation - and subsequent dismantling - of the 208 BBR HiAm CONA stay cables which were used as temporary supports while the arch segments were being cast in sequence during the construction of this record-breaking concrete arched railway bridge.
