BBR Project of the Year 2008
Ross River Dam, Australia
With many dams worldwide requiring upgrading to meet revised safety standards, the permanent anchoring and trunnion restraint tendons on the Ross River Dam helps securing the local community. This project is a perfect example of a special post-tensioning application and the leading edge technology employed by the BBR Network. Australian BBR Network member Structural Systems executed the anchoring works. Amongst the vast number of applicants, the Ross River Dam project convinced the jury most because the project perfectly documents the longstanding tradition of the BBR Network when it comes to specialist large capacity tendons to upgrade dams worldwide.
