Second iconic bridge arch now in place at Elizabeth Quay

Key milestone reached in construction of unique pedestrian bridge

Australian BBR Network Member, SRG Limited (SRG), together with the DASSH Joint-Venture (JV), successfully raised the second 100t arch of the iconic pedestrian and cyclist bridge at the Elizabeth Quay development in Perth at the end of June. The 20m high double arch, cable stay suspension bridge is the first of its kind in Perth and will create a striking architectural feature for the future precinct and the city. Construction has been in progress since 2014 and the bridge is expected to be opened to the public later this year. The bridge is the part of the A$2.6 billion Elizabeth Quay project designed to reconnect Perth city with the Swan River and will connect Williams Landing to the newly constructed island, promenades and ferry terminal. When completed, Elizabeth Quay is expected to attract more than four million visitors to the area annually, as well as providing a place of work for 10,000 employees and homes for 1,400 residents - and it will generate significant investment from the private sector into the State of Western Australia.
