Metro extension in France

Overhead rail network extension takes shape

Construction is underway in Brittany, France of the new 14km long Rennes Metro Line B which is scheduled to open in 2020. The route which will have 15 stations includes a 2.4km viaduct which is a complex 8.6m wide structure where the use of precast segmental construction will minimize impact on urban traffic and the environment. The installation of the 970 precast concrete segments and some 600t of BBR VT CONA CMI internal PT tendons is being carried out by ETIC, the BBR Network Member for France.
